Reblochon de Savoire AOP

Reblochon AOP is a creamy semi-hard raw milk semi-hard cheese. Its taste is milky-sweet like fresh cream, balanced, with a fine acidity and aromas of hazelnut. It is protected of origin and the Savoyard cheese par excellence. The name Reblochon is derived from „reblocher“ (post-milking) and „reblassa“ (plunder). In the past, the mountain farmers had to pay rent to the large landowners of the herdsmen. In order to reduce this interest, they decided to leave part of the milk in the cow until the main milk had turned into cheese. The milk from the fatty second milk formed the basis for the Reblochon.
